Here We Go

I’ve been thinking about sharing my creative process for years — and today, I finally stopped thinking and started.

I’ve been procrastinating about stepping beyond Instagram into a website or something more for a long time. I spent so much time overanalyzing the why, what, and how — but I’m done with that. So here I am.

I consider myself a maker because I simply love making things. It’s the thrill of the process: exploring a new medium, trying a new technique, seeing where materials want to take me. I get inspired easily, which is both a blessing and a curse — but I’ll save that for another day.

One of the many things that inspires me is the making of others — whether it’s a YouTube tutorial, a workshop in the neighbourhood, or an article I read. Realizing that sharing my own making might do the same for someone else is what finally convinced me to begin.

I searched for words to express what I’m trying to do. Words aren’t my strong suit, but “echo” kept coming to mind. And so Echoes of Making became the name for my blog and YouTube channel. It’s poetic and open to interpretation.

For me, it reflects how the makings of others influence me — and how my own might echo out to someone else.

What does it mean to you?

Echo in, Echo out.
